About Stephen Curry
Stephen Curry - Biography
Stephen Curry is an NBA point guard for the Golden State Warriors who transformed basketball with his unprecedented three-point shooting. Drafted 7th overall in 2009, he led the Warriors to four championships and earned two MVP awards.
Stephen Curry was born on March 14, 1988, in Akron, Ohio, to former NBA player Dell Curry and Sonya Curry. Growing up in Charlotte, North Carolina, he honed his basketball skills despite early doubts about his slender frame and shooting style. Curry attended Davidson College, where he led the Wildcats to the Elite Eight and Final Four in 2008, averaging 25.3 points per game as a senior before declaring for the NBA Draft. Selected 7th overall by the Golden State Warriors in 2009, Curry quickly emerged as a star despite ankle injuries sidelining him early. Under coach Steve Kerr from 2014, he pioneered the 'Splash Brothers' era with Klay Thompson, revolutionizing the game with volume three-point shooting. The Warriors dominated, winning titles in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022. Beyond basketball, Curry founded the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation in 2019 with his wife Ayesha, impacting underprivileged youth in Oakland through education and nutrition programs. He has endorsement deals with Under Armour, Chase, and others, amassing a net worth over $160 million. A devout Christian, Curry engages in social impact via voter mobilization and networking through his production company Unanimous Media.
