Mark Hyman - Biography
Mark Hyman, M.D. is a practicing family physician and internationally recognized leader in functional medicine. He is a fifteen-time New York Times bestselling author, founder of The UltraWellness Center, and chief medical officer of Function Health.
Mark Hyman earned his B.A. from Cornell University and graduated magna cum laude from the Ottawa University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of San Francisco's program at the Community Hospital of Santa Rosa. Early in his career, Dr. Hyman served for 30 years on the clinical faculty at the University of California – Los Angeles (UCLA), where he achieved the rank of Associate Professor of Medicine Emeritus. Dr. Hyman is the founder and director of The UltraWellness Center and played a foundational role in establishing the Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine, where he serves as founder and senior advisor. He is also co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Function Health and Board President for Clinical Affairs for The Institute for Functional Medicine. Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Hyman has become a prolific author and public health advocate.
