About Isaac Newton

Isaac Newton - Biography

Sir Isaac Newton was an English mathematician, physicist, astronomer, alchemist, and theologian who revolutionized science with his laws of motion and universal gravitation.

Isaac Newton was born on 4 January 1643 at Woolsthorpe Manor in Lincolnshire, England. He attended The King's School, Grantham, and later enrolled at Trinity College, Cambridge. During the Great Plague, he conducted transformative experiments in optics, mathematics, and gravitation. His seminal work, *Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica*, unified terrestrial and celestial mechanics. Newton served as President of the Royal Society and was knighted in 1705. He died on 31 March 1727 in London.
