Ryan Serhant is an American real‑estate broker, entrepreneur, media producer and television personality who founded the brokerage SERHANT. and previously led the Serhant Team at Nest Seekers International. He rose to public prominence as a star of Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing New York and later as star/producer of Netflix’s Owning Manhattan, and has authored books and hosted podcasts about sales and entrepreneurship.
Ryan Matthew Serhant was born July 2, 1984, and began his early career pursuing acting and occasional hand modeling before moving into real estate in 2008 as a way to stabilize income while pursuing entertainment work. His first day in real estate coincided with the 2008 financial crisis; he has recounted starting in the business to pay rent and gradually building skills and listings by cold calls, persistence and hustle. Serhant joined Nest Seekers International and over about a decade rose to executive leadership there, creating the Serhant Team and expanding into a bi‑coastal operation that focused on luxury listings and new developments. Under his leadership the team became one of New York’s top sales teams, selling new developments across multiple markets and achieving multi‑billion‑dollar cumulative sales during that period. In September 2020 Serhant launched SERHANT., a next‑generation, content‑driven real‑estate brokerage and media company built around a content-to-commerce model with in‑house production capabilities and an innovation platform; under his leadership the firm expanded across U.S. markets, grew to many hundreds of agents and employees, and received industry recognition such as Inman’s Most Innovative Brokerage award in 2025 according to his official bio.
